Border Wars is coming! Madison International Speedway and Rockford Speedway are up next for the ASA Late Model Series
Northern Division. Lexington, Michigan (Monday, July 14, 2008): In years past holding two events on the same weekend
in the ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM Performance Parts, the Lexington, Michigan-based series has held those
events close to the home base of the series. Previously the Mid-Michigan Doubles Weekend would highlight the schedule
as the ASALMS would stay in the home state of Michigan for a doubleheader weekend. In September of 2007, a Doubleheader
Weekend was attempted in the great state of Georgia with success. ASALMS Co-Founders / Presidents, Ron and Sandy
Varney wanted to keep the tradition of at least one doubleheader weekend alive and thought perhaps a change would
be even more successful! For the 2008 season, what was previously the Mid-Michigan Doubles Weekend has been moved out
West and is now known as "Border Wars!" As for what two tracks would host such a prestigious weekend, two stood
out as two great facilities over the years for the ASALMS and were natural selections for the first installment of what
is sure to be a very popular weekend of ASALMS racing! In addition, given the fact that these two tracks are very
different in driving styles should make for a great weekend of racing! Day One of the ASA Late Model Series Border
Wars will commence on Friday, July 25, 2008 as the fast 0.500 Mile High-Banked Paved Oval of the Madison (WI) International
Speedway, located South of Wisconsin's Capital City of Madison, in Oregon, Wisconsin will host the running of the
Border Wars Day I and the Mayor of Madison 100. ASALMS Border Wars Day II will be held the following day; Saturday,
July 27, 2008 as the ASALMS Northern Division contingent will convoy South on I-39 to the famed 0.292 Mile High-Banked
Paved Oval of the Rockford (IL) Speedway, just outside of Rockford in Loves Park, Illinois for Border Wars Day II
and the King of Rockford 100. Entry Forms for both events are NOW AVAILABLE and due at the ASALMS Home Offices
in Lexington, Michigan by Monday, July 21, 2008 to avoid the late fees. For the complete press release, as well

Sean Murphy takes his turn at a "Three-Peat" by winning the Pride of Iowa 150 at Iowa Speedway! By Matt Prieur-ASA Late Model Series Newton, Iowa (Saturday,
May 17, 2008): ASA Late Model Series Challenge Division Points Leader, Sean Murphy keeps track of the three other
divisions within the ASALMS family of divisions to see who's doing what and where! The Fort Lauderdale, Florida
driver certainly took notice when 19-year-old Jimmy Lang won the first three Features in the ASALMS Southern Division
and thought "You know I could do that!" In a very exciting 150-lap Feature that featured six lead changes at the
immaculate Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa, the 23-year-old originally
from Auckland, New Zealand accomplished that very feat as he steered his ASI Limited / GunBroker.com Chevrolet into victory lane after his third straight Feature Win! An announced crowd of 10,670 patrons, the second
highest fan count in the ASALMS' six-year history watched one of the most thrilling races in the brief history of
the Rusty Wallace Signature Series facility in the running of the Pride
of Iowa 150, which features a unique Triple 50s format! In winning
his third straight Feature, Murphy joins Lang and 2006 ASALMS Challenge Division Champion and Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie
of the Year, Kelly Bires, now a star in the NASCAR Nationwide Series,
as the only three drivers in ASALMS history to win three straight ASALMS Features! "I can't believe we won
this race!" An excited Murphy said in victory lane as his crew mobbed him as he climbed out of his machine. "I thought
we were done after I tagged the wall earlier, but Deon (Crew Chief, Deon Deneau) Butch Miller, and all my guys never gave
up on me and we won it!" "I really wasn't thinking at that point that we would win. But these guys never gave
up and kept getting me back on track." Murphy continued. " Last year we missed a lot of close races and now this
year everything is falling our way. I've had great race cars prepared for me each race and that's a huge part of it."
The New Zealander remarked. 2008 Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year title contender, Darren Robertson and
Indianapolis, Indiana veteran, Peter Cozzolino led the stout 27-car field to the green flag to begin
the unique Triple 50s formatted Feature. All 27 ASALMS teams were given a set of Hoosier Racing Tires to use at
their disposal during the event, but it was up to the teams on how and when they would use their fresh rubber making pit
strategy ever so important! In between each 50-lap segment, the companion United States Super Truck Series
ran 25-lap Features. In the time it took for the trucks to race their Features, that was the allotted time the ASALMS
Teams had to make changes to their machines! Cozzolino beat Robertson to the first corner to take the early lead
as the outside line back to the fifth row all made their way by Robertson who had a slow start. ARP Bodies / Aluminum
Racing Products Fast Qualifier and New Track Record holder, Jacob Goede, who drew the maximum of a 10 for an inversion,
quickly worked his way up to fifth by Lap two! Cozzolino led with Sean Murphy tucked in behind him in second place.
Murphy immediately began pressing Cozzolino for the top spot and would take the lead coming out of Turn Two on Lap 13.
Goede followed Murphy by Cozzolino and rested in second place. The first of eight cautions flew a lap later when
Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie Points Leader coming into the weekend, Jimmy Weller slammed the Turn Four wall after colliding
with Pete Vanderwyst. Both drivers suffered extensive damage and were done for the night but physically ok. On
the restart Goede immediately began working on Murphy for the lead when on Lap 27 Murphy slapped the Turn Two wall immediately
began fading with his passenger side panels flapping in the wind! The Defending race winner, Goede drove by on Lap
30 to take over the top spot while Murphy began going backwards in a hurry! Derek Thorn and several others also
quickly passed Murphy. But Murphy was able to get the caution he needed four laps later which allowed him to pit to
temporarily repair the damage until the end of the first 50-lap segment. Goede pulled away to a huge lead as the
first 50 was coming to a close when Plano, Texas driver, Brent Seeley,
who earlier in the day crashed hard in Practice, again slammed the wall, this time in Turn One, ending his night and
with the caution laps counting up to 10 laps to go in the event overall, the field came down pit road after completing
the first 50 laps. Goede led Derek Thorn, Cozzolino, Brent Downey, and a very fast Jimmy Lang, who started
18th on the grid and made his way up to fifth at the end of the first segment. This allowed Murphy, in his ASI
Limited Chevrolet to repair the cosmetic damage to the passenger side of his SS/Green Light Racing machine. He would
start the second segment at the back of the pack. The rest of the teams made minor changes and no one changed tires! At
the start of the second segment, Goede took off on the start and tried pulling away from Thorn and the rest of the pack.
Thorn had other ideas however and reeled Goede back in and followed in his tire tracks while Lang continued his charge
to the front and was now in third at this point. Thorn tried to make the pass for the lead on Lap 71 when 15-year-old
Brett Moffitt and 18-year-old Alec Carll got together heading into Turn Four resulting in both drivers slamming the wall!
Goede led the last completed lap and was placed in front of the rest of the field. Goede would lead Thorn, Cozzolino,
and the rest of the field into the Lap 100 break where everybody strapped on four fresh tires to begin the third and
final 50-lap segment to conclude the Pride of Iowa 150. Murphy had climbed
back into fourth spot at this point and was poised to make a charge at the lead once again while Lang had slipped to fifth,
but was keeping pace with the leaders. On the restart, Cozzolino, who started third in the last segment, quickly
passed Thorn and began to work on Goede for the lead. The Hoosier State veteran would take the lead away from Goede on
Lap 113 and was threatening to pull away from the rest of the field. In the meantime, back in the field, Lang the
ASALMS Southern Division point's leader, who had such a great run was forced to pit with fuel pick-up problems, ending
an otherwise excellent run for the Bluffton, South Carolina driver. Six
laps later, Thorn and Goede were battling for the second spot when Thorn slipped going into Turn Four and hit the wall
before coming to rest in the infield. He was ok, but very disappointed and done for the evening. By this time,
Murphy had earned the second spot behind Cozzolino while Goede tried to hang on for third spot but had Brian Campbell and 17-year-old Kyle Sirizzotti on his back bumper. Murphy looked high
and low trying to figure out a way around Cozzolino when on Lap 132, Kris Stump blew a right front tire and slammed the
Turn One wall before coming to rest in the middle of Turns 1-2. The Tipp City, Ohio veteran was ok, but done for the evening. On
what was to be the final restart, Cozzolino and Murphy pulled away to battle, but Campbell quickly reeled the two leaders
back in after passing Goede with 12 laps to go. Murphy began building momentum around the 7/8s mile progressively
banked paved oval and tried several times to make the pass stick, but Cozzolino held his line the whole time. Finally
on Lap 145, Murphy made the winning pass by Cozzolino and from there, the Fort Lauderdale, Florida driver hung on for
his third straight ASALMS Challenge Division Feature Win! Murphy came into the Pride of Iowa 150 hot off two straight ASALMS Challenge Division Feature Wins after winning the Non-Points
Crate Late Model Challenge at USA International Speedway in Lakeland, Florida back on January 27, 2008. He then won again in
the first point's race for the ASALMS Challenge Division on April 26, 2008 at O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis in the O'Reilly Auto Parts / ASI Limited 200 Presented by GunBroker.com. Both ASI Limited and GunBroker.com are sponsors on Murphy's ride! "This is just an awesome place to race!" Murphy continued in his post-race interview
in victory lane. "This is a beautiful part of the country, too. We never see cornfields and combines! Man I love it up
here." "We were good on long runs and I was hoping for a green flag last segment, but we didn't get it. It took
me awhile to come from the back. Peter races me clean and I appreciate that, we lost so many of these last season,
and now we're starting to get some wins! I can't wait to go to Berlin
now!" He ended. Cozzolino, in his Fatheadz Sunglasses Ford finished second to Murphy and was very happy with his
finish despite losing the lead with six laps to go. "The car was so tight so I moved up a lane and a half to get it
to turn. I knew Sean was back there and I tried to hold off for as long as I could." Cozzolino remarked. "This
was a good run for us! We're starting this season off pretty strong with some podium finishes." The 38-year-old continued.
"Now we're going to a place where I've won before in the old National Tour. We'll have something for them there!"
He smiled. Brian Campbell made a run from 13th to finish in the last
podium position in third and echoed the sentiments of Cozzolino about a tight race car. "I kept telling Bill (Crew
Chief, Bill McGowan) loosen this car up please!" Campbell laughed. "Finally it started coming in during the last 50
and we made a run at those guys in front of us, but we'll take a third after crashing at ORP." "Now these guys
come to my home track." Campbell continued, as he referred to the next ASALMS Challenge Division race on the 2008 schedule
at his home track of Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan. "That's my house and I plan on making things happen there
in front of the home crowd!" The Wyoming, Michigan driver added! Goede slipped to fourth place but will maintain
his second place in the point's standings while 17-year-old rookie, Kyle Sirizzotti earned the Pat Bourdow Memorial
Rookie of the Race with his career high fifth place showing and took over the freshman point's lead! Medina, Ohio
veteran, Jack Smith, who changed motors during Qualifying, started shotgun on the field in 27th and even went two laps
down early in the race, made a strong recovery to earn the night's Performance Concepts Hard-Charger Award by finishing
in sixth! Joey King, who was making his ASALMS Challenge Division debut, finished seventh while Pole-Sitter Darren
Robertson recovered from his early race troubles to finish eighth. Griffin McGrath finished a career high ninth while
Eddie Hoffman completed the Top 10. The ASALMS Challenge Division will take three weeks off before returning to
action with the third race of the season in the ASALMS Home State of Michigan as the historic Berlin Raceway, located
West of Grand Rapids in Marne, Michigan on Friday and Saturday, June 13-14, 2008 for the 2nd annual Tradition 200.
The USPRO Cup Series Presented by Drive Train Specialists will also be in action. The ASALMS sincerely apologize
for the internal problems with the ASALMS Challenge Division website throughout the weekend. We hope to have those
problems corrected as soon as possible! About the ASA Late Model Series: The

program for Crate-type/template bodied Late Model racing throughout the United States, exuding a passion for short track
racing that has elevated the program to be tagged as "America's Premier Short Track Series." The ASALMS will continue
to move forward, bringing that passion to fans, competitors and tracks nationwide as it continues to provide a platform
for exciting and affordable asphalt late model racing, while including a plethora of racers, from the veteran weekend

Cordele, Georgia
(Saturday, May 10, 2008): There are several cliches that can accurately describe the winning streak that Jimmy Lang is
on; You can call him Butter, since he's on a roll. He's so hot, he burns himself. There's more, but we think you
get the idea!
The Bluffton, South Carolina driver won his third consecutive ASA Late Model
Series Southern Division Presented by GM Performance Parts Feature in three starts as the 19-year-old in his Performance Concepts/Chevrolet
took the lead from pole-sitter, Justin Larson on Lap 17 of the Watermelon Bowl 100 at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Georgia.
Under
very threatening Georgia nighttime skies complete with a very cool lightning show behind turns 1-2 throughout the race,
once Lang took the lead, he was on his own planet and would go on to score a convincing 3.607 second win over hometown
favorite, Beau Slocumb and new Rookie of the Year Points Leader, David Odell.
"I don't know what to say! This is
so awesome, this was for my Mom, Happy Mothers Day!" Exclaimed the happy driver in victory lane. "I knew we had to try
and get to the front early, we didn't know what this weather was going to do, so I just tried to get to the front as quick
as I could."
"I knew once Beau (Slocumb) got through there, we were going to have a fight on our hands, so I
never let up the whole race." Continued Lang as his jubilant crew surrounded him on the front stretch. "If you would've
told me we'd start the South season by winning three in a row, I'd have told you that you were crazy!" He added.
Prior
to the start of the Watermelon Bowl 100, a severe thunderstorm had developed just south of the Cordele, Georgia speed plant during the support divisions
Features causing concern to ASALMS Officials.
In an effort to get the race to Lap 51 making the event official, ASALMS
Officials cancelled Pre-Race Ceremonies and determined that caution flag laps would count up to Lap 51!
Florida-based
Rookies, Justin Larson, who turned 20 the day before, and 17-year-old Michael Pilla led the field to chief starter, Tim
Sharp's green flag to begin the 100-lap feature at the 4/10s mile semi-banked d-shaped paved oval under those very threatening
skies.
Larson and Pilla stayed side by side through the first two corners when 17-year-old Dustin Dunn attempted
to pass both drivers on the inside before thinking better of it. Larson and Pilla touched sending the outside pole-sitter
around and forcing a complete restart.
On the restart, Larson beat Pilla to the first corner to take the lead and
the weather getting ever so closer, the entire field took no chances and clicked off laps in a hurry. Jimmy Lang, who started
sixth for the third consecutive race, quickly worked his way to second and began reeling in Larson, who had a half a
straight away lead on the rest of the pack.
Lang quickly reeled in the Clearwater, Florida rookie and made the pass for the lead
on Lap 17 with a smooth pass to the inside coming out of Turn two. From their, Lang began pulling away from the rest of
the pack until a caution on Lap 45 when GAS Series regular, Billy Chancy flew off the backstretch and into the Watermelon
patch behind Turns 3-4.
Chancy was ok and was actually able to continue on. As the field reached the coveted Lap
51 mark, making the race official in the event of weather that had since passed by, Lang built up a huge lead and even
with numerous cautions for spins and more drivers flying off the backstretch, Lang would quickly build up a big lead
on the field!
In the meantime, hometown favorite, Beau Slocumb, who started fifth had worked his way up to second,
but had fallen back too as far as sixth, began coming back through the lead pack and found himself back in the runner-up
spot with 25 laps to go but a good distance behind Lang.
Slocumb got a caution he desperately needed on Lap 77 when
Pilla became the fourth driver of the night to visit the Watermelon patches outside of Turn 3, which brought Slocumb
back to Lang's back bumper. Another quick caution on the restart for a spinning Rob Partelo would set up the last restart
with Lang and Slocumb running 1-2.
The partisan Watermelon Capital fans in the grandstands were licking their chops
at the prospect of their hometown
driver, Slocumb stopping Lang's winning streak at Two (2) as the all-time wins leader in ASALMS South competition stayed
glued to Lang's backside under the final caution flag to let the South Carolina teenager know he was there!
On that final restart however,
Lang again pulled away from Slocumb and the rest of the field and with 10 laps to go, began negotiating through some
lapped traffic while putting distance and other cars between him and Slocumb.
Lang safely went around the lapped
cars and the Bluffton, South Carolina
driver would walk away with his third consecutive ASALMS Southern Division Feature Win in three starts to begin the 2008
South season! By winning his third straight South Feature, Lang has built up a 62-point lead (Unofficially) in the 2008
ASALMS Southern Division Points Standings!
"We're running all the South shows and the Challenge Division races too,
so we'll be at Iowa
Speedway next weekend." Added Lang. "Now our goal is to bring our success we've had in South and hope it carries over to the
Challenge races! I think we'll have something for those guys there!" "He ended.
The Hometown favorite from near-by
Macon, Georgia Beau
Slocumb had nothing for Lang and finished in the runner-up spot after a lengthy battle with third place finisher and
new Rookie of the Year Points Leader, David Odell, who matched his career high finish with his second straight third
place showing.
"Man Jimmy was real tough tonight! We couldn't do anything with him!" Stated Slocumb during post-race
ceremonies. "My brakes started going away real early in the race and we lost a couple of spots. Once they (The Brakes)
came back, we were able to get up to second and we had some chances at getting the lead, but Jimmy was in a world of his
own!" He added.
"We'll take it though! A second place is good for us. We're concentrating on the Hooters Pro
Cup Series this season and there's a few weekends off in between races so it's nice to get back in this car!" Slocumb continued.
"I think the next time we come to an ASALMS South race later on this year, we may have a little something for Jimmy!" He
smiled.
"We needed this big time, for the crew and myself." New Rookie Points Leader, Odell said on the front stretch
after tying a career high finish with a third and a second straight trip to the podium. "We know we can run with these
guys and tonight proved that. That was a lot of fun battling with Beau! This is his house and to be able to hang with him
all night is a good thing!"
"We're in this for the long haul and I was worried about Beau for a while, he's here
too win and we're here running for a championship." Continued the 21-year-old from Lawrenceville, Georgia.
"We gave him room there with
20 laps to go and he got by us cleanly and that's all I could ask for. We'll go to New Smyrna and see if we can keep
up with the Fountain boys on their home turf!" Odell ended as he referred to Blake Lehr and Chad Pierce, both of whom he's
battling with for the freshman title.
ARP Bodies / Aluminum Racing Products Fast Qualifier, Colt James came home
a solid fourth to continue his streak of three straight Top Four finishes in three starts while 17-year-old Dustin Dunn
matched his career high finish by rounding out the Top Five.
15-year-old Max Gresham finished a career high sixth
ahead of front row starter, Larson who slipped to seventh. 17-year-old Blake Lehr finished eighth as another 15-year-old,
Gene Kirila scored his first career Top 10 with a ninth placed showing. Jeremy Gerstner completed the Top 10.
Earlier
in the afternoon, James won his first ARP Bodies / Aluminum Racing Products Fast Qualifier Award of the season as the Buda,
Texas driver turned in a 16.289 which measures out to 88.403 MPH.
The ASALMS Southern Division will now take several
weeks off before resuming their 2008 racing season on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the famed ½ mile high-banks of New Smyrna Speedway, located
West of New Smyrna Beach in Samsula, Florida for the running of the Florida 100.
The entry form for the Florida 100 will be available beginning on Wednesday,
June 4, 2008 and will be due at the ASALMS Home Offices in Lexington, Michigan by Monday, June 16, 2008 to avoid late fees.

19-year-old Jimmy Lang breaks the track record and then
wins his first career ASALMS Feature in a thrilling Flagship RV's 100 at Bronson Motor Speedway. By Matt Prieur-ASA
Late Model Series Lexington,
Michigan (03/31/2008): In an exciting, thrilling, and just plain wild 100-lap Feature that ended up going into
overtime to 101 laps at the Bronson (FL) Motor Speedway, 19-year-old Jimmy Lang passed David Odell just after the
final restart on Lap 99 and held off a late charge from Rookie of the Year title contender, Chad Pierce too win his
first career ASALMS Southern Division Feature! The first race of the 2008 racing season for the entire ASA Late Model
Series Presented by GM Performance Parts and more specifically, the ASALMS Southern Division is now in the record books! The
Flagship RV's 100, the 2008 ASALMS Southern Division Season Opener was held at the fast 0.333 Mile High-Banked Paved Oval
of the Bronson (FL) Motor Speedway, located West of Gainesville in Bronson, Florida. "This win is for my friend, Josh Froman, who passed
away just a week ago in a motorcycle accident back home. I had to win this for him!" An emotional Lang stated in victory
lane as his entire crew surrounded him and no one had a dry eye! "I wasn't able to go to the funeral, but he wouldn't
have wanted me to miss the race. He would've wanted me to go to the race and to go win this deal" Lang continued.
"I'm so proud that we were finally able to win one of these. We grew up together and went to school together from
Kindergarten to fourth grade when we switched schools. Man this is really special!" The Bluffton, South Carolina driver also takes
the early points lead in the chase for the 2008 ASALMS Southern Division Championship title chase heading into the
second South event on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the New Senoia (GA) Raceway, located Southwest of Atlanta in Senoia, Georgia for the running of the Georgia Showdown 100. "This car was
just great all weekend long! We must've turned about 500-600 laps in Practice on Friday. Rusty (Crew Chief Rusty Shadden) wanted me to get comfortable
in the car and learn as much as possible and it paid off!" Explained Lang. "We had the car on a rail all weekend
long and it really means a lot too win this for Josh, My Parents, Rusty, who came all the way down here from Iowa, and especially everyone
on this team! I can't wait to keep this going at New Senoia." Lang added. 17-year-old Blake Lehr, making his ASALMS
debut, and fellow rookie, 18-year-old Patrick Staropoli led the field to Bronson Chief Starter, Jimmy Durden's green
flag to begin the century grind in the Sunshine State and as the field scrambled to get to the bottom of the race track, Lehr fought off
Staropoli to lead the first lap of the 2008 season! As Lehr paced the field, the rest of the pack behind him scrambled
for position as David Odell and Justin Larson battled for second with Staropoli. The first caution of the night didn't
fly until lap 15 when John Gerstner, who had worked his way up to 12th from his 16th starting spot, slowed in
Turn Two. On the restart, Lehr maintained the lead but the battles behind him continued to rage on. On lap 19,
Travis Cope and Colt James were mired in a dogfight for the fourth position when James got into the back end of Cope
sending him around. James was sent to the rear of the field while Cope was awarded his position back. Nine laps
later as Staropoli was trying to keep pace with Odell and Larson for the second position, he suddenly slowed coming out
of turn two. ARP Bodies / Aluminum Racing Products Fast Qualifier, Jimmy Lang had nowhere to go and slammed into the
back end of Staropoli's Chevrolet. Staropoli had lost a transmission and was done for the night. Lang, with cosmetic
damage to the front end of his Performance Concepts Inc. / Chevrolet Monte Carlo was given his position back since he was not the cause
of the incident. The field settled down by running the next 28 laps under green with Colt James the fastest car on the
race track, as he came from the rear and was up to sixth by the halfway mark. A few more cautions for harmless
spins bunched the field up each time, but on each restart, Lehr would maintain control of the event as Justin Larson,
who like Lehr was also making his ASALMS debut would follow Lehr's tire tracks all over the 1/3 mile oval. Lang
patiently bided his time behind Larson as Cope was glued to Lang's back bumper. Soon the hometown favorite began his charge
towards the front and got by Lang and Larson quickly on lap 75 and set his sights on the race long leader. Lehr
and Cope, with the home track crowd behind him cheering his every move, began to look high and low trying to figure out
a way around the Clearwater, Florida driver. On Lap 79 Cope dove to the inside of Lehr heading into turns 1-2 and
they both touched, sending both cars around and everyone else behind them taking evasive action. Both Lehr and
Cope were sent to the rear of the field giving the lead for the first time to Lang on Lap 80. Another Rookie title contender,
David Odell found himself in second place behind Lang and began working on the new track record holder for the lead. Several
more cautions for spins and various contact between drivers in the middle of the field gave Lang a reprieve as Odell was
all over him for the lead. Amongst the drivers involved in the various incidents was Cope, whose night ended on lap
95 after an incident in turn four. On the next restart, Lang and Odell were now forced to deal with Justin Larson
and with only two laps to go Odell dove to the inside of Lang heading into turn one to take the lead on lap 99 as the
massive crowd on hand were already on their feet in anticipation of an exciting finish! As the white flag flew,
Lang went to the bottom of Odell to retake the lead when Larson tried to make it three-wide by diving underneath both
drivers. All three spun forcing the field behind them to again take evasive action! Odell and Lang were awarded their
spots back as Larson's was too damaged to continue Since this caution flew on lap 99 with just one lap to go, this
forced ASALMS Officials to institute a green-white-checkered finish, which meant the Flagship RV's was going into
Overtime! No ASALMS event can end without the last Two (2) laps ran under green flag conditions. Odell led Lang
to the green for the green-white-checkered finish and Lang would redeem himself immediately by passing Odell back as the
second white flag flew and retook the lead and as Odell tried to regroup and charge back at Lang, he blew a right
front tire and was forced to move out of the way. He limped home in 10th! Lang would hold off another Rookie making
his ASALMS Debut, Chad Pierce, who along with several others cars all got by Odell, but with less than a lap remaining,
he settled for second as Lang would cross the start / finish line first to bring home his first career ASALMS Feature
Win! "On the last green-white-checkered restart when the #75 (David Odell) went into one, he drove up in there
so hard. He went right up the racetrack, and I had a perfect entry. I went down under him and I was clear of him by
the time we got to turn three." Explained the Bluffton, South Carolina native! "Last year here, we rolled off the trailer and we were
third or fourth fastest right off, then we qualified sixth. We started on the outside pole and ran 80 laps in second
because we didn't want to rough drive anybody. That ended up getting us pushed out of the way and we finished fourth."
Lang added. "I vowed that wouldn't happen again, and then this year, we didn't want to rough drive anyone, but
I knew we'd have to race a lot harder than before." Lang stated. "This is a great way to start off the season,
we're running all the Challenge and Southern Division shows and we're going to hit some North races and even a few
of those USPRO races, so hopefully this is a sign of things to come." He ended. Pierce settled for second and takes
the early lead in the chase for the 2008 ASALMS Southern Division Rookie of the Year title. "Wow what a race! This
is my first time running with these guys and that was some real racing right there!" Pierce stated on the front stretch
after the race surrounded by his Fountain Motorsports Team and teammate, Blake Lehr. "This rookie battle is going
to be a lot of fun this season with my teammate, (Blake Lehr), Justin (Larson), and everyone else. The first two champions
of the series also won the rookie title (James Buescher and Jeff Choquette) so maybe we can continue that string." He
added. "But this is a long season and we don't need to be worrying about points yet!" Wesley Chapel, Florida
sophomore, Jeremy Gerstner finished a career high third and was just as happy about his first career podium finish as
Lang was in victory lane. "This race right here just shows how far this team and myself as a driver have come from last
year too now!" The 35-year-old sophomore pilot said. "This race was a lot of fun and to be competitive and have
a chance too win this race is something I'm very proud of." Continued Gerstner. "This is one of the highlights of
my career, even with winning Modifieds Championships and winning features there, this is just a great way to start
off our season." He ended. Buda, Texas native, Colt James, who ran the 2007 season in the ASALMS Challenge Division and is concentrating
his efforts on just the ASALMS Southern Division in 2008, came from the rear of the field on three different occasions
to finish a solid fourth. 17-year-old Dustin Dunn rounded out the Top Five with a career high fifth place showing. Lehr,
who led the first 79 laps before going to the rear of the field, recovered to finish sixth as 14-year-old Casey Caudill
earned the nights' Hard-Charger Award after starting 17th to finish an impressive seventh. 17-year-old Kyle Eastham was eighth as
16-year-old Michael Pilla and Odell completed the Top 10. Earlier in the afternoon in ARP Bodies / Aluminum Racing
Products Qualifying, Lang broke the ASALMS track record as he toured the Bronson, Florida speed plant at a 13.280 which measures out to 90.271
MPH. The ASALMS Track Record was originally set by Ryan Carlson back on March 4, 2006 when Northern invader turned
a 13.285. The next race for the ASALMS Southern Division is set for Saturday, April 19, 2008 as the Second Race
of the 2008 season for the Southern contingent will be hosted by the New Senoia (GA) Raceway, located Southwest of

The Rumble in the Hills / North Carolina 200 Post Race Recap. Lexington, Michigan (03/18/2008):
In what was to be the 2008 ASA Late Model Series Challenge Division Presented by GM Performance Parts Season Opener,
Mother
Nature had other ideas and as it turns out, will win what was to be the first points race of the 2008 season. Showers
and Thunderstorms and a forecast for more of the same throughout Saturday evening throughout the entire Western section
of North Carolina put a damper on the 2008 season opener for "America's Premiere Short Track Series." ASALMS
and Tri-County (NC) Motor Speedway Officials were forced to postpone the Rumble in the Hills / North Carolina 200 as 25
teams were ready to take to the 0.410 Mile Semi-Banked Paved Oval in Hudson, North Carolina. With the next day (Sunday) not an option
for all involved and after ASALMS and Tri-County Officials worked diligently to come up with a suitable make-up date
for both parties on Saturday afternoon and during the early part of the week, it was determined that a workable solution
could not be reached! ASALMS Challenge Division Officials regretfully announce that the Rumble in the Hills
/ North Carolina 200 at the Tri-County Motor Speedway is now officially cancelled and there will be no make-up date for
this event. As for the ASALMS Challenge Division Teams that made the long trip to Hudson, North Carolina,
all 25 teams will get 20 show-up points and will now have an advantage, points-wise, on other teams who attend what
will now be the rescheduled season opener as a reward for making the long haul South! The 2008 ASALMS Challenge
Division Season Opener is now the A.S.I. Limited / Circle City 200, which will be held at the O'Reilly (IN) Raceway Park at Indianapolis in Clermont, Indiana
on Friday and Saturday, April 25-26, 2008 during the A.S.I. Limited / Circle City Spring Nationals Weekend. For

The 2008 ASA Late Model Series Southern Division Season Opener is fast approaching as the Bronson
Motor Speedway awaits.
Lexington, Michigan (02/29/2008): The ASA Late Model Series Southern Division Presented by
GM Performance Parts has had a familiar theme in the first two seasons of competition. The Season Opener has been held at the
Bronson (FL) Motor Speedway, located West of Gainesville in Bronson, Florida.
ASALMS Co-Founder / President, Ron
Varney saw no need to change what has become a tradition within the ASALMS Southern Division ranks. So for the 2008
season, the cars and stars of the ASALMS Southern Division will once again draw open the curtain on the upcoming campaign
at the fast 0.375 Mile High-Banked Paved Oval.
On Friday and Saturday, March 28-29, 2008 the ASALMS Southern
Division will conduct their season opener, the Bronson 100 at the Bronson, Florida speed plant! Joining the ASALMS Southern
Division will be the Bronson Weekly divisions of Sportsmen, Super Stocks, Thunder Stocks, and Hornets.
The
Bronson 100 Entry Form will be available beginning on Wednesday, March 12, 2008. The traditionally warm weather in March
and exciting racing action at the Mike Cope owned facility made the decision to return to the track for the South
opener a no-brainer for Varney;
"We have been treated so well by Mike Cope, Tommy Dunford and the entire staff
the first two seasons, it only makes sense that the 2008 ASALMS Southern Division Season Opener will be held once again
at Bronson Motor Speedway!" ASALMS Co-Founder / President, Ron Varney said.
