LEGENDARY NASCAR CREW CHIEF
DALE INMAN TO SERVE AS 2008 PRI TRADE SHOW OPENING DAY BREAKFAST SPEAKER
LAGUNA BEACH, CA – Dale Inman, arguably the greatest crew chief of all time, scoring eight NASCAR driver championships
(seven for Richard Petty, one for Terry Labonte), has been named the Opening Day Breakfast Speaker for the 21st Annual Performance Racing Industry Trade Show, in Orlando,
FL.
Inman will chronicle his amazing career, speaking before a packed audience of nearly 4,000 show attendees
on Thursday morning, Dec. 11, 2008. The PRI Trade Show – the world’s largest racing trade show – will
once again take place at the Orange County Convention Center , Dec. 11-13.
Racing industry entrepreneurs are urged to preregister for the event in order to receive the ir credentials
in the mail. For more information on preregistering, go to www.performanceracing.com. The show will return for its fourth straight year to Orlando , with 1,450 exhibitors covering one million square feet
of floor space. It is for the trade only.
The highly regarded racing veteran holds more championships as crew chief than any o the r contemporary
in NASCAR. A first cousin to Richard Petty, he worked with the 7-time champion throughout the driver’s extraordinary
career. Inman left shortly after Petty won the 1981 Daytona 500, taking over the crew chief position for Terry Labonte.
He won his eighth NASCAR driver championship with Labonte in 1984. Although Inman retired from the sport at the end
of the 1998 season, he has since returned to Petty Enterprises as a consultant, continuing to “hang around and mingle
with the troops.
“I still enjoy racing,” Inman has said. “I’m as busy as my body will let
me; I enjoy being around the crew. They like to hear the old stories that we tell. Some of the m are hard to believe.”
The Opening Day Breakfast
has become a solid tradition for the PRI Trade Show. With Inman as the
storyteller, the Breakfast
will be the hottest ticket in town. There is no charge for admission for attendees with credentials. Doors to
the northwest corner of the exhibit hall open at 7:00 a.m., and the program will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m.
Everything happens here first!
Reaching
more than 45,000 show attendees at the 2007 show in Orlando, the three-day PRI Trade Show is timed so that racing retailers, engine and car builders, wholesaler/distributors,
professional race teams and other industry participants can shop the latest new product introductions and have them in inventory
for the next racing season.

Performance Racing Industry Trade Show Extends Dates in Orlando to 2016
LAGUNA BEACH, CA – The world’s largest racing trade show, the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show, will remain
in Orlando through 2016.
Attended
by more than 45,000 racing industry entrepreneurs from over 50 countries, and featuring exhibits of the latest advances in
motorsports technology by 1,450 companies (2007 numbers), the PRI Trade Show’s first event in Orlando was in 2005. This
year, the 21st Annual PRI Trade Show will once again be held in the North/South Building of the Orange County Convention Center
, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, December 11–13, 2008.
Previously, the PRI Trade Show had contracted to hold
the event in Orlando through 2010.
“After holding the PRI Trade Show in Orlando for three very successful years,
it is now viewed by exhibitors and attendees as the place to be for the future,” said Steve Lewis, show producer. “Exhibitors
appreciate the strong annual domestic and international buyer attendance in Orlando . Buyers appreciate shopping the 1,000,000-square-foot
exhibit hall featuring displays of all the latest product lines in motorsports.”
In Orlando , the entire PRI
Trade Show is located in one hall, on one floor. “ Orlando provides the PRI Trade Show with all the attributes of a
great host city, including a spectacular convention center, and this has been proven by the enormous volume of business transactions
concluded every year at the Show,” continued Lewis.
“ Orlando becomes the center of the racing universe
for three days each December,” said Bob Davis, global communications manager for Sunnen Products Company, St. Louis , Missouri , “and we look
forward to it every year. We could not be any happier with the Convention Center, the number of attendees or all that Orlando
has to offer in the way of hotels, restaurants and entertainment.”
“Certainly, the serious business is
the main reason and the justification, or even the excuse, which always ‘drove’ us to all the PRI Trade Shows,”
said Wilfried Eibach, chairman and CEO of Eibach Springs, an international manufacturer of racing springs with offices in
Corona, California.
Eibach added that he also very much enjoys the social aspects of the PRI Trade Show. “The facilities and the climate
in Orlando are just so pleasant and inviting, for the whole family. The decision [to stay] in Orlando will cement even more
PRI’s role of being the biggest and most important motor show around the world.”
In addition to the excellent
roster of hotels currently meeting the needs of exhibitors and attendees, the added convenience of hotel rooms adjacent to
the Convention Center will improve dramatically in the next few years with the completion of two major brand name hotels.
The Hilton Orlando opens in 2009 offering PRI guests 1,200 rooms, and a new Hyatt Regency, located along Universal Boulevard next to the Convention
Center, will add 1,000 more rooms in 2012. Plus, several other hotel chains popular for their affordability, will be opening
facilities adjacent to the Orange County Convention Center during this period, adding up to 4,000 more hotel rooms in the
coming years. This will greatly increase the opportunity to stay within walking distance of the Convention Center.
“The Orange County Convention Center is
honored to be chosen as a long-term partner for the prestigious PRI Trade Show,” said Jessie Allen, general manager
of the Convention Center. “We have enjoyed an outstanding relationship with PRI and are excited to continue to provide
their Show's exhibitors and attendees with all of the amenities that our Convention Center and community have to offer.”
“We
are thrilled to enter into this long-term partnership with the PRI Trade Show management team and are honored by the confidence
they have placed in Orlando ,” said Gary Sain, president and CEO of the Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors
Bureau. “ Orlando ’s dynamic growth in accommodations, amenities and attractions combined with our unparalleled
service will ensure a uniquely compelling and successful show for PRI and its trade show attendees for many, many years to
come.”
The PRI Trade Show is timed to provide racing retailers, warehouse distributors, race engine builders,
professional race teams, motorsports engineers and race car fabricators the opportunity to preview the latest racing product
lines, make purchase decisions and have new parts in stock for the start of next year’s racing season. It includes
components for all forms of auto racing, including stock car, drag, open wheel, off-road, rally, karting, sport compact drag
and all facets of road racing.
“The PRI Trade Show is the number one place in the world to find the products
and gather the information that lead to victories. Our engineering and purchasing staff take full advantage of the three days
of contact with our current and possible new suppliers. The growing international aspect is also proving beneficial,”
said Spenny Clendenen, business manager, Richard Childress Racing Engine Department. ------------------------ Louisville, Kentucky, was the site of the first PRI Trade Show in 1988. Since then, the PRI Trade Show has also been
held in the cities of Nashville
, Tennessee ; Cincinnati
, Ohio ; Columbus
, Ohio ; and Indianapolis , Indiana . The heritage of the PRI Trade Show has been to outgrow
the facility, resulting in moving the event to larger facilities. The PRI Trade Show moved to Orlando when it had sold out
all available space in the Indiana Convention Center .

THAT'S IT. WALL HAS CLOSED! by Mike Fields
March 14, Wall Township, NJ--- We've just received crushing word this evening
from Wall's Jim Morton that Wall Township Speedway, the last remaining paved oval track in New Jersey, has officially closed
it's doors; apparently, forever.
The track, which has been in continuous operation since 1950, could not be
sold. The deal which had been rumored, fell apart this afternoon. We were made to understand that the deal-breaker was because
of a snafu with the township's zoning issues that the new owners couldn't live with.
A letter from Tom Shinn, one of the four partners of Wall Township Speedway
was released, which reads:
To Whom It May Concern:
It is with an extremely heavy heart that I must, at this time, announce
the closing of our beloved Wall Township Speedway, formerly known to the vast majority of us as Wall Stadium.
Like most of us, my first experience at the Speedway was as an eight year
old child attending with my father some 45 years ago. Some of my fondest childhood memories were forged at the Speedway we
so loved.
I recall the miniature, plastic models of the then Modified/Sportsman
cars that I would meticulously paint and letter to represent top shoes such as Tommie Elliott in the purple No. 4 and Parker
Bohn in the 659, as well as many others.
As we all did, I established some great lasting friendships at the track,
none the least of which was former Head Mechanic at United Crane, Al Mauser, better known in the racing circles as Bill. Then
there were my dear friends the late Tommy Comerford, Don Ling, Bill Johnson and the Blewett family, just to name a few. I
could go on and on.
Without getting into all the whys and wherefores, please know that we,
as a partnership group holding four equal twenty-five percent shares, did everything in our power these last six years since
2002, to provide top quality short-track racing and keep the doors to the Speedway open. We have made numerous attempts to
create a scenario which would enable us to continue with the Speedway operation, all to no avail.
Please know, that when we purchased the track from the Nicol family on
February 26, 2002, we, as an ownership group, were wholly committed to its continuance as the top quality racing facility
it had always been known as in the fifty-one years prior.
Please also know this decision to close was made on this 14th day of March,
2008, as we were still exploring certain options available to us in an attempt to remain open for the 2008 season: again to
no avail.
I, as do my partners, truly believe in our hearts, that we did everything
in our power, for all of the right reasons, to continue the unprecedented heritage which was always associated with Wall Township
Speedway/Wall Stadium.
With that said, it is with deep regret that my partners and I are left
with no alternative than to close Wall Township Speedway/Wall Stadium after 57 years of continuous racing.
We cannot thank you, the competitors, crews, many race fans across the
country and anyone ever associated with the Speedway for your undying loyalties and support throughout those 57 years
since 1950.
I believe I can speak for the Nicol Family as well. I, for one, know how
much the Speedway meant to Tucker, his mom, Tom and the entire Nicol family throughout the years.
Unfortunately, we find ourselves joining the long, ever-growing list of
short-tracks across the country which have been forced to close.
In reflecting on the rich history of the track, let our thoughts go to
the good times which are etched in all our memories and may we all be thankful for the 57 years of great racing in the Township
of Wall, New Jersey.
God Bless all of us, and may God continue to bless the great sport of
Auto Racing.
Sincerely,
Timothy H. Shinn Managing Member For the Partners
